Photographing Water

Water Droplet With Flash

fstop = 5.6, shutter speed = 1/200s

1. I found it easy to get a good shot. The ability to just hold down the button to take photos made it easy, and combined it with coordination made it even easier. Since it would be one person counts down when they are going to do it which made timing when to start taking photos easier.

2. I really liked how the flash helped enhance the ripples in the water and the made the water glow more. It also made the image brighter overall which is really nice.

Colored Paper Reflection Without Flash

fstop = 5.6, shutter speed = 1/640s

1. I think that it was easy to get a good shot. Like before, we held down the button to take photos once we had counted down when to start taking them. I feel like the only thing that made it more difficult was getting used to taking the photos and figuring out what the best way was, since this was the first station we worked with.

2. The thing I didn't like about flash was that the image felt too dark. This probably could have changed if we had changed the fstop but we didn't do that. It also doesn't give off shine like the ones with flash do.

Colored Water Drops With Flash

fstop = 5.6, shutter speed = 1/200s

1. Still the same thing as before. The only thing with this station is that we didn't properly focus the camera initially so the first couple of shots weren't that good. It is unfortunate that is what happened because we saw a couple good ripples and good shots, but they weren't in focus.

2. I think the colored water really added to the image. It is like the other flash one, but the water looks better because of the color. I feel like the color made the water shine more.

Water Clouds With Burst Mode

fstop = 6.3, shutter speed = 1/100s

1. I think this shot was the hardest one to get because the dye clouds didn't move that quickly when we put it in. We had initially expected the dye to enter the water and go down a little and spread. It ended up just staying at the top.

2. The only main adjustment we made was moving the camera forward which brought it closer the the bowl.

3. I think this image had enough lighting that flash wasn't needed, but I feel like if flash was used it could have been better. Since the light is only really coming from the right side of the bowl.
