Elements of Texture

Texture is a real or implied feel, appearance, consistency of a surface, or a substance, the tactile quality of the surface of a work of art.

In the first picture, the leaves are dry so you can infer that the leaves will feel dry and be really easy to break.

In the second picture, you see a plant that is alive and the leaves of the plant would feel on the softer side compared to the first picture where the leaves were dry.

In the third picture, you see the surface of rocks and you can see the bumps in the rocks, so you can infer that the texture would be a bumpy rough surface.

In the fourth picture, you see the side of a building where you see a fence and the walls that have depth. It has a pattern of going out and in so you can infer that it will have a bumpy texture if you were to move your hand against it.

On the last picture, there is a tree that you can see all the indents and carves on the tree. You can infer that it will have a rough surface.
